David Somerfleck

I’m a professional WordPress Web Developer. I have 10+ years’ experience developing professional websites for small-to-medium businesses and also have a very strong background in journalism. Hobbies include learning Japanese, taking care of our pet rabbit, hiking with my wife, and just relaxing, reading, studying new web design trends, programming. I live in Denver, Colorado.

How did you started to work from home?

I started Sudden Impact Web Design approximately 3 years ago, simply because I was already very familiar with web design, journalism, SEO best practices, marketing; and felt very strongly that I could provide a level of quality others needed.

How long do you work from home and earn a living to you or you must still go to work?

We’re still in a growing phase, but the future is expanding, let’s put it that way.

What is your normal day?

I “normally,” (using the term loosely) keep office hours, working from 3 laptops and one tablet from morning to evening. When necessary, I’ll break that schedule for a meeting or conference, but always prefer to do so using Skype or other online web-based conferencing tools to save time. So, I’ll usually work fairly close to 9 to 5, Monday through Friday, but will occasionally alter that to take a day off with my wife to go hiking and refocus.

How often you work from home?

To me working from home, being my own boss, owning my own business, choosing who to work with, that is ideal and not so much “work” as I see it legitimately helping businesses (that are interested) to grow exponentially. I help businesses streamline procedures, improve processes with vendors and suppliers, help them get more leads, reach new markets, solidify branding, sell products or take payment for services online 24/7, provide marketing collateral, provide customer forums, membership sites, and do much more. So I don’t really see it as “work,” but a calling that I enjoy and am very passionate about.

How to look your home office?

When it comes to Denver WordPress web design, there are so many corporate agencies locally out there, I wanted to be able to provide a more personal approach focused on building partnerships with clients. Toward that end, we don’t work out of a corporate high-rise office downtown, so don’t fall victim to the huge overhead expense, either, and can more easily provide personal, custom service our clients really need and depend on. As a result, we don’t need to pass someone off to a salesperson, or outsource work overseas. We work with clients we want to help build a genuine return-on-investment, revenue-generating marketing division and meet them at their place of business or at a nearby office park or boardroom. We can pass along that savings cost to the client as well.

What would you say to people who want to start working from home?

I would suggest researching the local market, local competitors, analyzing their practices, their marketing approaches, their end-product and workflow. At Sudden Impact Web Design.com, we’re here to bottom-line help small businesses become larger and that’s our focus – making a sudden impact for them.

Thank you very much for your time!
